Lake Shumarinai

Lake Shumarinai is a man-made lake in northwest Hokkaido. It's approximately 40 minutes away from both Shibetsu City and Nayoro. There are three camp sites and also cabins. There's said to be bears around, but I've never seen any. However, foxes are common to see. The bugs aren't terrible. Just like any other camping in Hokkaido. 😉 All tent areas are near the lake, making it convenient for boating. The birds are loud or beautiful. Whichever way you see it. Overall, it's a very enjoyable place!
